Semi-final head-to-heads
The second semi-final at the Australian Open men's tournament promise to be a mouth-watering contest.

Roger Federer has had to come through a punishingly difficult section of the draw to reach the semi-finals, and has done so in style.

The Swiss is generally regarded as the most talented player in the game and began to live up to the hype with victory at Wimbledon and the Masters Cup last year.

Brilliant from the back of the court and at the net, as well as possessing a mighty serve and a cool temperament, there seems no reason why he should ever lose.

However, his concentration can still wander and questions were asked about his physical preparation before the tournament - something Ferrero is sure to test.

The Spaniard has had injury worries of his own this week but still come through with plenty to spare.

He had his own breakthrough year in 2003 as he became French Open champion and briefly held the number one spot - something he is desperate to take back.

With a huge forehand and a rock-steady two-handed backhand it is hard for most players to find a way through Ferrero's defence.

Federer will need all his creative shot-making ability if he is to reach the final.
