25. Andrei Pavel

DOB: 27.01.1974
Nationality: Romanian
World Ranking: 27
Australian Open record:
2001 :: second round
2000 :: n/a
1999 :: fourth round
1998 :: n/a
1997 :: first round

The 27-year-old has not shown any great form in the Grand Slams.

But over the last 12 months the Romanian has shown enough to suggest that a run of results could be coming soon.

He has won a title in each of the last three years and each has been an improvement on the previous effort.

That run culminated in his third career title at the Montreal Tennis Masters Series final where he beat Andy Roddick, Tommy Haas and Patrick Rafter to claim the crown.
