22. Hicham Arazi

DOB: 19.10.1973
Nationality: Moroccan
World Ranking: 24
Australian Open record:
2001 :: first round
2000 :: quarter-final
1999 :: first round
1998 :: fourth round
1997 :: first round

Arazi is regarded by many as one of the most naturally gifted players on the circuit.

He won his first - and only - ATP Tour title in 1997 at the Casablanca Open but has failed to build on that sole success since.

If the Moroccan maintains the yo-yo form he normally shows in Melbourne, where even years equal success, others should watch out.

He is unlikely to trouble the major players but should entertain the crowds, at least during the first week.
