3. Andre Agassi
The three-time Australian Open champion is the complete player and arrives in Melbourne looking to complete a hat-trick of titles in a tournament he first won in 1995. Agassi is quick, agile, has an effective serve and the ability to find more angles than anyone else on the circuit. The 31-year-old looks after his "ageing" body by limiting the tournaments he plays in and has reaped the rewards. After a decade at the top, there are still only a handful of the younger generation who can keep up with him on a regular basis. And Agassi's longevity is all the more remarkable for the fact that his career at the top appeared to be over when his world ranking slid to 141 in 1997. He returned to win another four Grand Slam tournaments - taking his total to seven - and is one of only five players to have won all four Grand Slam titles.
