10. David Nalbandian

DOB: 01.01.1982
Nationality: Argentine
World Ranking: 12
Australian Open record:
2002 :: second round
2001 :: n/a
2000 :: n/a
1999 :: n/a
1998 :: n/a
1997 :: n/a

Nalbandian made a giant leap in 2002 when he fought his way to the final at Wimbledon.

It was an incredible achievement given his lack of experience on the surface and no disgrace to be soundly beaten by Lleyton Hewitt in the final.

His semi-final victory over Xavier Malisse included some of the biggest hitting ever seen at the All England Club, and the Argentine certainly has the power to trouble anyone.

Almost as impressive was the fact that Nalbandian picked up his first two titles last year, including the indoor event in Basle.

The 20-year-old is not the quickest player around the court, but otherwise looks to have everything required of a Grand Slam contender.
