Rae represents a good doubles option for Great Britain

Jocelyn Rae has been called up for Fed Cup duty by Great Britain following the withdrawal of the injured Laura Robson.

The 6ft 2in 19-year-old won gold for Scotland with Colin Fleming in the mixed doubles competition at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

Great Britain take on Switzerland and Denmark in Group A of the Euro/Africa Group I round which takes place in Eilat, Israel, from 2-5 February.

The team includes Elena Baltacha, Anne Keothavong, Heather Watson and Rae.

"This is a great opportunity for Jocelyn," said GB's Fed Cup team captain, Nigel Sears. "We're looking forward to welcoming her into the team and to getting our Fed Cup campaign under way."

GB, alongside 14 other nations, are vying to take the top two spots and progress to the World Group II play-offs in April.

Rae, who had six months out with a tibia injury in 2009, is currently 16th in the Lawn Tennis Association's female rankings.
