Robson 3-6 6-7 (7-5) Jankovic
Breaks off both first serves; rasping forehand from JJ to take another, big pressure on the Robson forehand leads to another. 4-1 and trouble. Ace down the middle - that's her 12th of the day, a remarkable stat against a returner like Janks. Into the tramlines from the Serbian, and Robson seems to have the next point at her command, only to drag her forehand into the net - 5-3, rather than 4-4. A moment later it's 6-3 and match point - one saved with backhand pulled cross-court, and another with her 13th ace. Pure guts. She scampers desperately on the last match point, only to be overwhelmed by the power and precision of Jankovic's groundstrokes. An hour and 27 minutes she fought for, and the crowd - almost three-quarters full by the end - rise to applaud her efforts. Won't be the last time we see Laura Robson on Centre, you'd say.

Brutal backhand from Janko off the attackable Robson second serve. 15-30. Ace! Oof, right onto the baseline next, and she's a point away from a tie-break. Not this time - long, as the shadows begin to stretch across Centre, and a good length on a return from Janko has Robson match point down. Now then... huge first serve, coming in behind it - saved! She's at the net on the next point only to mis-hit into the tape, but saves a second match point by forcing JJ long. Super forehand drive for a clean winner, and an ace to follow - we're into a tie-break, and Robson's bottle cannot be questioned.
* Robson 3-6 5-6 Jankovic
Not this time - JJ canters through a batch of her own, and Robson will have to come out and hold to stay in the match.

Super serving, rattling through at express pace. Can Robson now pile some pressure on the Janko serve?
* Robson 3-6 4-5 Jankovic
Good pluck and battle from Robson, and she's shown flashes of class here. Plenty of composure, confidence growing. At 30-15 she seems spent, only for a splendid sequence of forehands to leave Janko reeling. When a backhand eats net, the break has been snaffled back.

Uh-oh - just wide from Robson, and then pulverised by Janko's double-fisted backhand. Break point, and if this goes the match may too. That's well held - crunching first serve, excellent backhand cross-court - but another backhand cross court sets up another. Saved, with a booming first serve; game point with another, only for the power of the Janko backhand to come into play again. Break point... ace! Oh, that's too good - crashing backhand winner cross-court, followed by another off the forehand side to steal the break. Robson must break to stay in the championship.
* Robson 3-6 3-4 Jankovic
Robson staying in the points much more effectively now, and when she cuts it short she does so with success - fine backhand winner down the line. The next goes long, however, and Jankovic has her elegant nose back in front. Barely a sniff of a break for the Brit.
Robson 3-6 3-3 Jankovic *
Ach - Robson is cruising at 40-15 and has the court at her mercy as she races onto a mid-court forehand, but she booms it long to slip back to deuce. Big deep breath, big first serve, big hold.
* Robson 3-6 2-3 Jankovic
Promising signs from Robson, staying in the points with quick feet and sweet hitting on either side. At 30-30 she's eyeing a break back, but a brace of errors cost her dear - long, wide - and she goes to the changeover with consternation all over her chops.
Robson 3-6 2-2 Jankovic *
Clouds gather overhead, and mugginess grows. That's solid from Robson, landing the first serves and drilling the forehands down the line into Janko's own forehand corner.
* Robson 3-6 1-2 Jankovic
Oh, that's delightful from Janko - seemingly stranded by a Robson backhand that skips off the tape, she re-adjusts the feet in a flash and dinks a dreamy backhand lob over the flailing racquet of the British tyro.
Robson 3-6 1-1 Jankovic *
Dark marks appearing on the turf beyond the baseline as Robson prepares to serve - when the boomer lands, she has a chance, but her second serve is too short too often. Rapid one down the middle - Janko frames it into the covers, and we're level pegs.
* Robson 3-6 0-1 Jankovic
Super exchange of battering forehands, Robson hanging tough until the eighth shot of the rally when the power of Janko's forehand becomes too much.
Robson 3-6 Jankovic
Trouble for Robson as Jankovic uses that sweet touch to work up two set points. Big first serve, return long - one saved. Another big first serve, but it's delaying the inevitable - another break, and the set has gone in 31 minutes.
* Robson 3-5 Jankovic
Much better from Robson, striking the ball with power and leaving Janko stranded with a rasper cross court. Janko tries a serve out side to the leftie's forehand but gets marmalised back down the line - shot de jour from the 16-year-old.
Robson 2-5 Jankovic *
Apologies for the brevity of these updates - technical issues here. There's chaps on the case. Robson's meaty serve drags her back to deuce again and again, but Jankovic's power on the forehand wing is too great. Second break gone, and Janko will serve for the first set.
* Robson 2-4 Jankovic
Robson has a chance to break back but goes long and the fourth seed retains her two-game lead. Still lots of empty seats around the arena.
Robson 2-3 Jankovic *
Serve starting to crackle and pop now from Robson, and the crowd responds.
* Robson 1-3 Jankovic
Jankovic making her seventh successive appearance at Wimbledon, although she's never been past the fourth round. Experience and muscle paying off here, and Robson is struggling with the pace.
Robson 1-2 Jankovic *
Nerve-settler for Robson on her Centre Court debut, surviving a sequence of backhand drives from Janko to bust the bagel. Stands no more than a fifth full, but dribs and drabs coming back in.
* Robson 0-2 Jankovic
Only Robson's second appearance at Wimbledon proper, after her first round defeat to Hantuchova last summer, and she's right up against it here - 234 in the world plays no.3, 16 year old plays 25 year old. Easy hold for Janko.
Robson 0-1 Jankovic *
Hmm. Troublesome start for the young Brit, Jankovic all over her serve and snatching a break with most of the crowd still queuing for the rest-rooms.
The length of the Federer match means many spectators have nipped out for a break and from our seat in a commentary box high at the back of the court, it looks only around half full. Still, there's plenty of time. You'd hope.
Britain's Laura Robson is knocking up on Centre Court with fourth seed Jelena Jankovic. The pair will have expected to be out here long before this but Roger Federer's five-set victory over Alejandro Falla left them with a long old wait.
