Whybourn struggled against her more experienced opponent
Britain's Lisa Whybourn's hopes of a place in the main draw at Wimbledon came to an end with defeat in the final round of qualifying at Roehampton.
The 19-year-old, from Huntingdon but based at the Wrexham academy, lost out to 22nd seed Andrea Hlavackova 6-1 6-2.
The Czech player, who had beaten Briton Naomi Cavaday in the previous round, controlled the match from the start.
But the displays of Whybourn, currently ranked 410, are set to lift her into the top 400 for the first time.
She was the only British representative in the last round of qualifying after Cavaday's loss.
"This was one of the biggest matches ever, so far," Whybourn told the LTA website. "Obviously today was really disappointing but it's been a great week.
"Off the ground, I think I was with her and the same as her. Her serve was pretty good and then in the second set at 3-2, I didn't take my opportunities."
There are six British women in the main draw for the Championships - Elena Baltacha and Anne Keothavong qualified directly through their rankings while Katie O'Brien, Melanie South, Heather Watson and Laura Robson were given wildcards.
