British teenager Laura Robson has moved up to a career-high ranking of 269 in the world after a string of good results in the United States.

The 2008 Wimbledon junior champion reached the semi-finals of the ITF event in Dothan, Alabama, last week.

Robson, 16, has moved up 46 places to become Britain's seventh-highest placed woman in the WTA rankings.

Scotland's Elena Baltacha remains the British number one with a world ranking of 59.

Robson came through qualifying and beat Megan Falcon, Chin-Wei Chan (world number 514), Yuliana Fedak (192), Madison Brengle (179) and Sophie Ferguson (144), before losing 6-0 6-2 to Romanian fifth seed Edina Gallovits (119) in the semi-finals.
