Former champion Mikhail Youzhny held his nerve to defeat top seed Novak Djokovic and reach the final of the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam.

The Russian faltered when serving for the match but fought back in the second tie-break to win 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (10-8).

Youzhny, the 2007 champion, will take on Sweden's Robin Soderling in the final of the indoor event on Sunday.

World number eight Soderling beat Nikolay Davydenko 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 in the first semi-final.

"This is a really tough tournament and it's not easy to reach the final here," said Soderling, who began the year with first-round exits at Chennai and the Australian Open.

"I am playing better with every match so I'm very happy. I've had a lot of tough matches with Nikolay in the past few years.

"He's one of best players in the world so it means I am playing great tennis to beat him. My confidence is up and I'm looking forward to the final tomorrow."
