Murray will lift Davis Cup squad - Lloyd

World number two Andy Murray will spearhead Great Britain's challenge in the Davis Cup play-off against Poland from 18-20 September.

Ross Hutchins, Ken Skupski, James Ward, Josh Goodall and Dan Evans join Murray in the British squad.

Liverpool's Echo Arena will host the tie, with the winner staying in Euro/Africa Group One.

"It's a huge advantage for us to have a player of Andy's class. I'm delighted to have him," said captain David Lloyd.

"Everyone is very excited to be playing Davis Cup in Liverpool for the first time.

"This is a difficult tie and we're expecting a tough test, but I know we can rely on the fans at the Echo Arena to play their part by whipping up an electric atmosphere and urging our boys to victory."

The losing team will drop down into Euro/Africa Group Two.

Great Britain hold a perfect record over Poland in Davis Cup, having won all seven meetings between the two nations.

The most recent victory came in Poland in 1991, with Britain claiming the tie 4-1.

Murray missed the defeat by Ukraine in March because of a virus.
