Fists fly in the stands as Murray pulls off an outrageous lob, and Wawrinka's staring down the barrel here at 0-30. Stan threads a backhand winner down the line, and he follows that up with an ace down the centre. Murray challenges, but it did clip the line. Wawrinka balloons a forehand way long with the court at his mercy, and Murray has a break point... Murray bunts a forehand return long, big serve from Wawrinka there. Good return again from Murray and Stan plonks a forehand long... Wawrinka misses with his first serve, Murray climbs into his second on the backhand side, but the Scot eventually stiffs a forehand into the net. Wawrinka goes well wide with another first serve, before netting with a tired-looking forehand. Third break point... AND THIS TIME HE'S DONE IT! Murray tries a ridiculously optimistic drop shot there, but it's at 30-0 so he just about gets away with it. Another slicey-dicey backhand forces Stan into the error, and that's 40-15 - but he overcooks a forehand. Tense times on Centre. But a booming forehand makes Stan go wide and he's on the board in this final set. It's 2200 BST, folks.

Cheap point, Murray needs a few more of those. Murray suddenly comes over all Jahangir Khan, bunting back a handful of squash shots from the back of the court, and he eventually misses with an attempted pass. The crowd on their feet between games, as Wawrinka prepares to serve to stay in the tournament. Murray with a big wind-up on the forehand side, but it's an unforced error. This is now officially the latest finish in Wimbers history, as the Swiss number 19 muscles down a couple of aces straight down the middle. Net cord from Murray, and he follows up with a snorter of a forehand winner down the line to make it 30-15. Wawrinka really mixing things up from the baseline, swapping slices with top-spin, and Murray eventually buckles and allows the Swiss an easy overhead to hold.

Murray misses with a runaround forehand, but he makes up for it on the next point, really piling into a raft of forehands and Wawrinka is unable to cope. Wawrinka makes it 30-30 with another unforced error, before Murray is unable to chase down a Wawrinka drop shot. Peach of a forehand pass from Murray brings it back to deuce, before Wawrinka gives Murray a break point for 5-3 with a floated backhand that lands long. It's crackling out there now, but he gets the faithful groaning with a forehand into the net. Murray keeping it on Wawrinka's forehand, but the Scot eventually goes long to hand the Swiss the advantage. Great stuff from Murray, dragging Wawrinka all over the court before executing the cross-court forehand winner. Murray with a backhand on the run, and he thinks it's in when in fact it's just wide. Murray's eyes light up on a Wawrinka second serve, but he finds the net with a rather tame backhand return.

Murray looks like he's got a dose of servitis here, he balloons two deliveries well long for a double, but he pulls a biggun out of the bag to hold.

Three set points as Murray gets stuck into the Wawrinka serve, and he only needs one of them, Wawrinka netting with a forehand. Murray pumped up, Wawrinka struggling to keep a hold of Murray's coat tails all of a sudden. Still only managed to push his first serve percentage up to 42% though, and that's not the form of a Wimbledon champion.

"FOCUS!" cries Murray as he hands Wawrinka a second chance to break in this game with another forehand into the net, before the Scot saves again. Ripper of a backhand from Wawrinka and Murray is only able to dink it long off his toes, but Wawrinka misses another chance to break, spraying a backhand a few inches long. Big first serve from Murray and he follows up with a wrong-footing forehand down the T. Wawrinka long with a backhand, Murray manages to hold.

Wawrinka likes to take his team between points, but I don't think Murray will be complaining. Missed chance on the Wawrinka second serve, and the Swiss follows up with a doozy of a forehand winner down the line. Murray is left rooted to the spot by another wicked top-spin backhand from Wawrinka - a glimpse of the promised land for Murray, but Wawrinka quickly slams the door shut.

Better from Murray, who pumps his fist after moving into a 30-15 lead, and Wawrinka overcooks a backhand to make it 40-15. Murray digs out a meaty serve and holds with relative ease. Better body language from Murray there, bit of mongrel.

Sweet as a nut, this backhand, you could paint a picture of it, stick it in a frame and it wouldn't look out of place next to the Mona Lisa on the walls of the Louvre. Huge from Wawrinka on the backhand side again, he's terrorising the Scot with that shot.

Murray finds the net with a forehand, and this is a little too passive at the moment from the Brit. Wawrinka does Murray a favour with a double fault... and another! Murray's advantage... but he tugs a backhand into the net. Wawrinka mad as a bannister in this game - an ace to go with his two doubles - before Murray pokes a forehand wide to hand the Swiss the game.

Another break point for Wawrinka, and Murray goes long with a forehand to hand him the game on a platter. Not the start we'd expected.

Wawrinka pulling Murray all over the court here, and he puts away an attempted lob by the British number one. Three break points. Players knocking up now... plenty of red, white and blue on Centre, this place is going to be rocking in a few minutes' time. Murray leads Wawrinka, the Swiss number two and number 19 seed, 4-2 in head-to-heads. Murray stuffed Wawrinka at last year's US Open, he's a red-hot favourite today.
Here come the players, and the fans on Centre Court rise to their feet as one. Plenty of seats on Centre at the moment... totally understandable, it's only the British number one in the fourth round... might as well have a Pimms...
It would appear that they're keeping the lid on, despite the fact that we have blues skies over Wimbledon. The only moisture on Centre Court this evening will be the tears from the eyes of Sir Cliff.
No disrespect to Mauresmo and Safina, but let's be honest, this is what it's all about today - British number one and number three seed Andrew Murray in the fourth round against Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland... I'll just find out if it's an indoor match or not...
