Huber and Murray were runners-up at the 2008 US Open mixed doubles final
Briton Jamie Murray and partner Liezel Huber recovered from a set down to beat Rik De Voest and Raquel Kops-Jones in the first round of the mixed doubles.
The British-American duo were outplayed 2-6 in the first set, but bounced back in the second-set tie-break before emphatically sealing the third 6-1.
But British wildcards Colin Fleming and Ken Skupski squandered a two-set lead to lose in the men's doubles.
The pair lost to Johan Brunstrom and Jean-Julien Rojer 7-6 7-6 6-7 4-6 3-6.
Scot Fleming, 24, and Liverpool's Skupski, 26, had beaten world number ones the Bryan brothers at Queen's.
The pair had been hoping for a rematch with the Americans in the second round, taking the first set on a tie-break in a set that lasted an hour.
They then took the next set, which again went to a tie-break, with Skupski smashing the ball back over the net, giving him and Fleming a strong advantage.
But the pair were broken for the first time in the third as Skupski struggled with his first serve, giving Brunstrom and Rojer a 4-2 lead.
Skupski and Fleming's match included three tie-breaks
The Brits fought back, breaking Brunstrom in his next service game, before the match went to a third tie-break but this time their opponents came out on top after the Liverpool player missed a drop-shot.
Brunstrom and Rojer then levelled the match at 2-2 after breaking Fleming for the first time and Skupski for a second time, despite the pair's efforts to get back on level terms.
The Brits were then broken again in the final set, eventually losing it 6-4, as their opponents completed a thrilling fightback.
Skupski had some success when he teamed up with Katie O'Brien to win a first-round mixed doubles match.
They beat Ashley Fisher of Australia and American Abigail Spears 6-4 6-4.
However, British duo Alex Bogdanovic and Melanie South went out 7-5 6-3 to Dutchman Rogier Wassen and Tamarine Tanasugarn of Thailand.
And Josh Goodall and Naomi Cavaday fell to a 6-2 6-4 defeat by Argentine duo Lucas Arnold Ker and Gisela Dulko.
