Dementieva cruises into last four

Top seed Elena Dementieva reached the semi-finals of the Family Circle Cup after Dominika Cibulkova had to retire in the second set due to a leg injury.

The Russian was leading 6-4 1-0 when the Slovakian's thigh strain proved to painful for her to continue.

Dementieva has lost just eight games in her three games en route to the semis.

The Olympic champion Dementieva will meet Caroline Wozniacki in the last four after the Dane brushed aside Virginie Razzano of France 6-2 6-0.

Germany's Sabine Lisicki, who knocked out Venus Williams in the third round, also advanced to the semi-finals in Charleston after the 19-year-old beat Elena Vesnina of Russia 6-4 6-0.

She will play France's Marion Bartoli , who eased into the final four with a comfortable 6-4 6-1 win over Melinda Czink of Hungary.
