French fourth seed Adrian Mannarino has won the 20,000 Jersey Challenger event after beating German second seed Andreas Beck 7-6 7-6 in the final.

Mannarino, who beat top seed Chris Guccione in the semi-finals, needed tie-breaks in both sets to win Sunday's final at the Les Ormes club.

"I've been lucky because in tie-breaks it's never easy," the Paris native told BBC Radio Jersey.

"It came down to only one or two points so I am very happy."

"It was a very good week for me, I was playing very well. I was a little bit lucky today and in my semi-final, but it was a very good result and a very enjoyable week for me," he added.

Beck made the final by beating Czech qualifier Tomas Zib in straight sets in his semi final on Saturday.

In the women's 6,700 tournament, Polish fourth seed Katarzyna Piter beat top-seeded Swiss Stefania Boffa 6-2 6-2 in the final.

"I really enjoyed the time I spent here, I played very well, and I won so I'm very happy," Piter said.

"I've won a $10,000 tournament and now I think I can play at a higher level, maybe a $25,000 tournament" she added.

And Piter says she would like to try her hand at the 25,000 tournament being held at the Les Ormes club next March.

"I heard there'll be one here in March, so I'll come back and play here again," she said.
