Britain's Jamie Murray and his American partner Liezel Huber take on fifth seeds Leander Paes and Cara Black in the mixed doubles final
Murray and Huber match their opponents throughout the opening set but Black and Paes rally to come through on a tie-break
After making a strong start to the second set Murray is broken at 4-4 and Paes and Black go on to take the title with a 7-6 (8-6) 6-4 win
After his gruelling five-set victory over Igor Andreev, world number three Roger Federer plays Gilles Muller of Luxembourg in the last eight
Muller, a qualifier, takes former world number one Federer to a first set tie-break but the Swiss uses all his experience to come through
A crucial break at 4-4 in the second set proves decisive for Federer, who has won the last four US Opens
The big-serving Muller refuses to be shaken off and after forcing the second tie-break of the match he takes a surprise 5-3 lead
But Federer takes four straight points to seal a 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 7-6 (7-5) victory and extend his US Open winning streak to 32 matches
The final match on Arthur Ashe Stadium sees home favourite Andy Roddick take on Novak Djokovic for the right to meet Federer
Roddick has the backing of a vocal New York crowd but it does little to boost his performance and Djokovic races through the first set
After one break proves his downfall in the second set, a badly out-of-sorts Roddick smashes his racket into the ground
Gradually the momentum shifts in Roddick's direction and Djokovic's game and body language begin to crumble under sustained pressure
An early break is enough to seal the third set for Roddick and, much to the crowd's delight, the 26-year-old goes a break up in the fourth
But Roddick serves two double faults en route to being broken back when serving for the fourth set and Djokovic forces a tie-break
Djokovic has the edge throughout an enthralling tie-break and comes through 2-6 3-6 6-3 6-7 (5-7) to set up a semi-final with Federer
