Highlights: Nadal's tense Queen's victory

Rafael Nadal beat Novak Djokovic 7-6 (8-6) 7-5 in a thrilling Artois final at Queen's, just seven days after winning his fourth French Open title.

Nadal, 22, will now be confident of becoming the first man to win at Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same year since Sweden's Bjorn Borg in 1980.

Nadal trailed 0-3 in the first set before storming back and pipping his Serb opponent in the tie-break.

Djokovic served for the second set but Nadal made him pay for his profligacy.

The French Open and Australian Open champions thrilled the crowd with some magnificent tennis, and Nadal must be confident of denying world number one Roger Federer a sixth-straight Wimbledon crown.

Reaction: Nadal wins Artois title

Nadal became the first Spaniard since Andres Gimeno in 1972 to win a grass court title and the first player to win at Roland Garros and Queen's in the same year since the tournament began in its current format in 1979.

"This week has been amazing for me," said Nadal, who was a point away from being 4-0 down in the first set before fighting back to win it on a tie-break.

Djokovic held one set point at 6-5 in the tie-break but Nadal took the next three points to win it 8-6 in 74 minutes.

Nadal seemed on course to race through the second set when he broke for a 2-0 lead, but Djokovic refused to concede and broke straight back.

The next six games went with serve but only after Djokovic saved two more break points to make it 4-4.

Djokovic looked to have made the most of his reprieve, breaking to love in the next game only to lose his serve straight back while serving for the set.

And Nadal made the world number three pay for his wastefulness, holding serve to lead 6-5 and then breaking Djokovic again to secure victory.

Djokovic said: "It's been a terrific week. I've only been playing on grass for three years so it's quite an improvement for me to get to the final."
