Roger Federer is to play Pete Sampras in an exhibition match at New York's Madison Square Gardens on 10 March.
Federer and Sampras have become good friends in recent years
The Swiss world number one, who has 12 Grand Slam titles to the 14 won by Sampras, faced him a successful three-match tour of Asia last November.
Federer won the first two, but the American took the third, and both are keen to renew their friendly rivalry
"For me, it is a dream come true to play at the Garden," said Federer ahead of the Australian Open in Melbourne.
"It's been a long time since men played there, and Pete really wanted to have an exhibition in the States.
"It was exciting to spend a week with Pete last year throughout the Asian swing," Federer said.
"We went to places that don't see much tennis, and that's something that is always important to me."
Federer added their New York match was the last one planned. "After that we'll see where it takes us," he said.
