Andy Roddick has pulled out of the Thailand Open with a foot injury - shortly before he was due to face Wang Yeu-Tzuoo in his opening match.
Roddick has returned to the United States for treatment
Roddick explained: "I hurt the bottom of my foot. When I practised, I hurt it again and I had to stop."
The American is the latest leading player to withdraw from the tournament.
Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Joachim Johansson, Asian number one Lee Hyung-taik and home favourite Paradorn Srichaphan have already pulled out.
Czech Tomas Berdych is now the only top-10 player left in the competition.
Roddick arrived in Bangkok from Sweden, where he helped the United States reach the final of the Davis Cup.
"I came here and I gave it my best," said Roddick.
"This (getting injured) is part of sport. It's not fun. No-one enjoys it."
