Former champion Kim Clijsters has decided against playing at the US Open in her final year on tour.
However, the 23-year-old Belgian, who has already pulled out of the French Open, plans to play both doubles and singles at Wimbledon.
"That way, I will be able to stay a bit longer at my last Grand Slam," she told her official website.
Clijsters, who has struggled with injuries during her career, will make her next outing in Warsaw on 30 April.
She complained of a sore back after making an early exit from the Sony Ericsson Open in March and has not yet resumed training.
"The will is not fully there yet, but I want to get used to clay again," she said.
Clijsters will get married to American basketball player Brian Lynch on 14 July in her hometown of Bree.
The final tournament of her career is expected to be the WTA event in Stuttgart from 1 October.
