Alex Bogdanovic has failed to reach the main draw of the first Masters Series tournament of 2007 in Indian Wells.
Bogdanovic had beaten Dlouhy twice before but lost in Indian Wells
The Briton, 23, defeated American Amer Delic in his first qualifying match but lost the second 4-6 6-2 6-0 to Czech Lukas Dlouhy.
Bogdanovic had been aiming to become the third Briton to enter the first-round of the competition.
Tim Henman faces Czech Jan Hernych in round one while Andy Murray has a bye into the second round.
Henman begins his campaign on Saturday, while Murray will start on either Saturday or Sunday.
The main men's event kicks off on Friday but the women's got under way on Wednesday.
Among those to progress into round two on Thursday were Russia's Elena Likhovtseva, Australia's Alicia Molik and US players Vania King, Laura Granville and Bethanie Mattek.
Meng Yuan, who beat British number one Anne Keothavong in the final round of qualifying, reached the second round after overcoming Virginie Razzano of France in three sets.

World number 30 Xavier Malisse, who has won two ATP Tour events already this year, has pulled out of the men's draw with a wrist injury.
The Belgian, who had been given a bye in the first round, will be replaced in the draw by compatriot Olivier Rochus.
