Belgium's Kim Clijsters is considering skipping the French Open in May in order to concentrate on Wimbledon.
The ex-world number one has a hip injury and needs more time off between
tournaments to maintain her fitness.
Clijsters, 23, who plans to retire at the end of the year, told her website:
"I have to build in longer rest periods after each tournament.
"It might very well be I'll drop the French Open, so I can be completely fit for Eastbourne and Wimbledon."
Clijsters confirmed, however, that she is fit to play in the Diamond Games event in Antwerp next week.
