Patty Schnyder struggled against Ekaterina Bychkova

Swiss sixth seed Patty Schnyder crashed out in the first round of the Paris Open, losing 3-6 6-4 6-3 to Russian qualifier Ekaterina Bychkova.
After storming through the first set in 25 minutes, Schnyder lost her serve twice to allow her opponent take the second.
Bychkova, 100th in the WTA rankings, squandered a 3-0 lead in the decider.
The Russian, however, regained her composure to break again and seal the win on her first match point.
Czech Nicole Vaidisova thrashed France's Aravane Rezai 6-2 6-1 to reach the second round.
Vaidisova broke in the fifth game, went on to claim the first set in 30 minutes and never looked back.
The fifth seed lost only 10 points on her own serve and wrapped up the match in just 50 minutes.
Nicole Vaidisova was rarely stretched by Aravane Rezai

Vaidisova will now meet compatriot Lucie Safarova in a rematch of their Australian Open quarter-final. Safarova beat Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova.
The 17-year-old said afterwards: "I played very well today, I kept very focused the whole time.
"I've definitely had a great start this year and came here feeling very good."
The wildly erratic Rezai admitted she had no answer to Vaidisova's consistent power and booming serves.
"She has had some good results recently," said the Frenchwoman. "I'm not trying to find excuses but she played very well and I couldn't find my game."
