Taiwan doubles pair make history
Chuang Chia-Jung (left) and Chan Yung-Jan celebrate victory
Chuang and Chan reached the final with a straight-sets victory
Chuang Chia-jung and Chan Yung-jan created history when they became the first players from Taiwan to reach the final of a Grand Slam on Thursday.

They will play Cara Black and Liesel Huber in the women's doubles final after beating reigning champions Yan Zi and Zheng Jie of China 6-3 6-4.

"We lost to them in the Asian Games final and this is revenge," said Chan.

Meanwhile, reigning champions Bob and Mike Bryan will play Jonas Bjorkman and Max Mirnyi in the men's doubles final.

Chuang said the secret of the Taiwanese pair's success was not taking the tournament too seriously.

"We are just trying to be relaxed and have fun and it looks like it is working," she said.

"Lots of people are watching in Taiwan. Maybe we will go home as heroes."

Last year Zheng and Zi became the first Chinese players to win a Grand Slam tournament and Zheng admitted they were disappointed not to retain their title.

"Our opponents played very well. In the second set we had some chances and a lot of break points," said Zheng.

"I am not so happy because we wanted to go to the final."
