Top seed Anna Chakvetadze will face fellow Russian Vasilisa Bardina in the final of the Hobart International.
Chakvetadze, ranked 13 in the world, beat India's Sania Mirza 6-4 6-1 despite being hampered by a back injury during the closing stages of the match.
Qualifier Bardina, who has never been beyond the second round of a WTA event before, beat Serena Williams's Austrian conqueror Sybille Bammer 6-3 6-1.
"It's my first big win. To win this would be great for me," she said.
"Maybe, the first dream is to win a small tournament, and then the second is to win a big one."
