Fourth seed Dmitry Tursunov beat top seed Tommy Robredo on Saturday to reach the final of the Mumbai Open.
The Russian, who saw off Briton James Auckland in the last eight, won 7-6 (7-2) 3-6 6-1 in the semi-final.
"Frankly, I didn't play well enough to win, but Tommy wasn't playing well," said Tursunov. "I think he got a bit tense during the match."
Third seed Tomas Berdych eased into Sunday's final with a 7-6 (7-2) 6-2 victory over Austrian Stefan Koubek.
"I've got reason to be pleased with the way things have gone, it's been a good week for me," said Berdych.
"I haven't lost a single set going into the final."
