Second seed Fernando Gonzalez of Chile breezed into the second round of the Dutch Open in Amersfoort on Monday.
Wimbledon quarter-finalist Gonzalez hammered Belgian Kristof Vliegen 6-2 6-1 on the clay and goes on to face Robin Vik of the Czech Republic.
Vik beat Nicolas Lapentti 6-1 6-3, while David Sanchez upset eighth seed Tomas Behrend 6-4 7-5.
Santiago Ventura beat seventh seed Oscar Hernandez, while Christophe Rochus and Jiri Vanek also won.
Top seed and French Open runner-up Mariano Puerta and third seed Nicolas Massu play later in the week.
