PUTTING ON A BRAVE FACE
Venus Williams put on the style in New York
Venus Williams kept her spirits up last week despite seeing her season end early.
The Wimbledon champion pulled out of Philadelphia with a knee injury, and then saw Elena Dementieva overtake her to grab the final place at the Tour Championships.
But she was a winner at Glamour magazine's award ceremony in New York last week, following in the footsteps of Hillary Clinton and JK Rowling.
"I was really honoured, because when you look at the record of who's been honoured, it's really people who have really made a difference," said Williams, who won the 2005 'comeback' award.
"I guess I've made a difference on the court.
"I don't know if I can compare to all the other honourees, but I'm just happy to be honoured for being the best I can be."
