Hingis makes doubles semi-finals
Martina Hingis and Indian partner Mahesh Bhupathi
Hingis' singles hopes were ended in the quarter-finals
Swiss star Martina Hingis kept alive her hopes of landing a Grand Slam title by reaching the mixed doubles semi-finals at the Australian Open.

Hingis, 25, and Indian partner Mahesh Bhupathi beat the eighth-seeded Australian pairing of Todd Perry and Rennae Stubbs in straight sets.

Her strong service returns created opportunities for Bhupathi at the net as the pair won 7-5 7-6 (7-5).

She and Bhupathi now face Australian fifth seeds Paul Hanley and Sam Stosur.

Kim Clijsters ended Hingis' singles comeback at the Australian Open with a battling 6-3 2-6 6-4 win in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.
