There is no denying Italian Pennetta has enjoyed a fair amount of success in the last two years.

However, it has pretty much all been on clay, which does not bode well for her third appearance on the grasscourts of Wimbledon.

Still, the 23-year-old had plenty to celebrate in February when she grabbed her third career title at the Mexican Open - a week after winning the Bogota Open.

It was Pennetta's 15th straight win on clay and catapulted her to a new career-high ranking of 25.

That winning streak ended at Indian Wells the following month, while in May, she reached the third round of the French Open for the second time in the three attempts.

Her Wimbledon best is the second round, which is better than her first round exits at the Australian Open and US Open.
