2004: 4th round
The 17-year-old Frenchwoman has continued to make steady progress in 2005.
Golovin cracked the world's top 20 for the first time in April thanks to a series of impressive performances on the tour.
She reached the semi-finals of her season opener at the Gold Coast before succumbing to Patty Schynder.
But the Russian-born right-hander was not able to repeat her 2004 fourth-round appearance at the Australian Open, stalling in the second round.
A return to the circuit saw Golovin reach the semi-finals of the Paris Indoors before making the last four at the high-quality Charleston event.
Golovin was beaten in Charleston by Justine Henin-Hardenne but her progress was good enough to significantly improve her world standing to number 18.
She has shown good form on grass and will aim to further impress at Wimbledon, after reaching the fourth round on her debut last year.
