Henman unseeded for Aussie Open
Tim Henman is currently 36 in the world rankings
British number one Tim Henman has not been seeded for the Australian Open, which starts on Monday.

Henman, the world number 36, missed out by one place, with 35th-ranked Carlos Moya receiving the last seeding.

If any seeded players withdraw before the tournament starts, Henman should be promoted, but if not, he could face Roger Federer in the first round.

As expected, world number ones Federer and Lindsay Davenport were both named as the top seeds.

World number three Andy Roddick is the men's second seed after Rafael Nadal's withdrawal and defending champion Serena Williams is seeded 13 after a disrupted 2005.

There are few surprises in the seedings list, which was based on the world rankings.

Australia's Lleyton Hewitt, who lost in last year's final, is seeded third and will find out when the draw is made on Friday whether he could face a semi-final showdown against either Federer or Roddick.

Belgian Kim Clijsters, who pulled out of the Sydney International this week with a hip injury, is the women's second seed.

Maria Sharapova, struggling with a rib injury, is seeded fourth and heads a list of nine seeded Russians.

Sania Mirza of India is the 32nd seed.
