Nadal clinches Madrid final spot
Rafael Nadal
Top seed Rafael Nadal moved to within a win of his 11th title of the year by beating Robby Ginepri in the semi-finals of the Madrid Masters.

The 19-year-old Spaniard won 7-5 7-6 (7-1) in front of his home crowd.

The match featured some hard-hitting rallies with Nadal capitalising on some Ginepri errors for the big points.

He now faces Croatia's Ivan Ljubicic, who beat Argentina's David Nalbandian 6-3 3-6 6-3 in the second semi-final in the Spanish capital.

"I'm delighted. It's incredible to be in another final and even more special to do it in Madrid," said Nadal after reaching his fifth decider of the year.

Ljubicic admitted he faced stern opposition from both his opponent and the crowd in the final.

"I know everyone will be against me tomorrow but I'm going to make sure I enjoy the match and hopefully I'll win," he said.
