Injured Venus out until October
Venus Williams receives treatment during her opening match
Venus Williams will miss next week's WTA event in Guangshou after being forced to pull out of the China Open with a knee injury.

Williams suffered the injury in her match against Nuria Llagostera Vives.

Despite easily winning that contest 6-3 6-1, the American third seed received treatment on her left knee which was taped near the end.

"I was able to finish the match but I'm not in a condition to play professional tennis now," she said.

"I hope to return to Beijing, now I have time to do some sightseeing and shopping."
