Nadal to take on Ferrero in China
Rafael Nadal was an easy winner on his return to the tour
Spaniards Rafael Nadal and Juan Carlos Ferrero will clash in the semi-finals of the China Open after Nadal won two matches in Beijing on Friday.

After rain washed out Thursday's play, Nadal beat Justin Gimelstob 5-7 6-4 6-4 and then Peter Wessels 7-6 (7-3) 6-2.

Ferrero upset David Nalbandian, seeded third, 6-2 3-6 6-3 in his only match of the day.

Second seed Guillermo Coria will face Swedish fourth seed Thomas Johansson in Saturday's second semi.

Coria beat Japan's Toshihide Matsui 6-1 6-0 and then seventh seed Mikhail Youzhny of Russia 6-4 1-6 6-2.

Johansson clinched his final-four place with a 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 win over Spanish eighth seed Carlos Moya.

"I played almost four hours today," said Nadal. "I'm very, very tired. I played very bad in the first match. I'm happy that I improved a lot."

Ferrero knows he must improve after losing three times to Nadal this year.

"It will be different for both of us," said Ferrero.

"I'll try and play better than I have against him in the past when I thought I had good chances to beat him."
