Federer 4-0 Agassi
Federer is on top form now and Agassi is all but watching as the winners fly past him. He drops serve to go a double-break down.

Federer 1-0 Agassi
Federer looks back to his imperious best and goes ahead with a service game to 15.

Third set:

Federer 7-6 (7-1) Agassi
Agassi opens the tie-break with an outstanding drop shot but Federer is serving well now and goes back in front at 2-1. The Swiss finally finds a backhand return and when Agassi puts the next two long, Federer is in control at 5-1. He fires an unreturnable serve to earn five set points and takes the first with his best backhand of the day.

Federer 6-6 Agassi
Federer cannot be feeling too happy but he looks as calm as ever and forces the tie-break with two aces in a comfortable hold.

Federer 5-6 Agassi
A couple of unexpected Agassi unforced errors give Federer a potentially crucial break-point chance but the American puts in a big serve and follows up with a forehand winner. Federer misses backhands on his second and third break points and Agassi saves the fourth with an ace. The American comes through and the crowd returns to a state of near hysteria.

Federer 5-5 Agassi
Agassi opens with a blistering backhand cross-court winner but Federer manages to claw his way back with some strong serving.

Federer 4-5 Agassi
An early doulbe fault unsettles the crowd but Agassi gets back on track with one precise backhand and pumps himself up as he edges ahead again.

Federer 4-4 Agassi
Agassi looks understandably flat after dropping serve so quickly and the crowd feels the same as Federer holds to love.

Federer 3-4 Agassi
Federer breaks back immediately with two heavy backhand returns doing the damage, and for the first time the Swiss lets out some emotion with a scream of satisfaction.

Federer 2-4 Agassi
Federer appears to have a brainstorm at 0-30, unnecessarily playing a cross-court drive-volley and putting it well wide. The umpire can barely be heard above the 25,000 Agassi fans as their man gets three break points. Federer saves two but then nets a backhand to hand Agassi the break.

Federer 2-3 Agassi
At 15-30 Federer has plenty of time over a backhand but sends it way into the tramlines. No such problems on the forehand side and a cross-court winner takes him to deuce but Agassi holds on.

Federer 2-2 Agassi
Federer gets back on level terms in a low-key game.

Federer 1-2 Agassi
A fiercely competitive game sees Agassi desperately lunging for a drop shot and ultimately winning the point, and the game, as Federer then loses his range on the backhand return.

Federer 1-1 Agassi
Federer stops a run of three games against him with a much-needed service game to 15, and brielfy quietens the crowd.

Federer 0-1 Agassi
Federer looks a bit irked by the growing sense that he is the most unpopular guest at an Andre Agassi party and takes it out on one enormous forehand return. The American holds firm though, moving to the net to seal the game.

Second set:

Federer 2-6 Agassi
Agassi unloads on his returns in what is effectively a free game and gets to 15-40. He nets a backhand return on the first set point but forces an error with the second, and the crowd goes bananas.

Federer 2-5 Agassi
Both players are firing on all cylinders now, with one fierce rally seeing some huge hitting before Agassi finds a forehand down the line. A poor Federer backhand at 30-30 proves crucial and Agassi holds.

Federer 2-4 Agassi
For the first time Federer looks slightly ruffled when he starts with a horrible backhand but an Agassi error takes the pressure off and the Swiss comes through with some big serving.

Federer 1-4 Agassi
Federer looks on for the break with two stunning forehands but a couple of desperate backhands let Agassi back in and he holds.

Federer 1-3 Agassi
Federer gets off the mark in this set with a comfortable game, although an inch-perfect Agassi lob gets the crowd going.

Federer 0-3 Agassi
Federer almost responds to being broken with a break of his own. At 15-40 down Agassi responds with an ace before Federer sends a backhand long. An Agassi double fault gives Federer break point number three but the American comes up with the best forehand of the day and goes on to hold.

Federer 0-2 Agassi
Agassi decides it is time to try and force Federer out of his rhythm and he does so spectacularly with three huge returns, the last being a lunging cross-court forehand that sends the crowd wild.

Federer 0-1 Agassi
The task looks enormously difficult for Agassi now but he stays in the hunt with a service hold from 30-30.

First set:

Federer 6-3 Agassi
The crowd are hoping for a turnaround after the last game and they almost get their wish. One serve and two big forehands take Federer to 40-0 before a great Agassi scramble and two errors from the Swiss see a total of six set points disappear. Federer then puts a forehand an inch wide on his seventh set point but it is eighth time lucky when he finds a big serve.

Federer 5-3 Agassi
Federer is in complete control and looks far the more athletic as he races back and forth along the baseline. He gets to 0-40 and three set points but Agassi fights back, levelling at deuce with a rare trip to the net. The American then wins a duel at the net before taking the game with an ace.

Federer 5-2 Agassi
Federer is looking ominously sharp now and his speed around the court is making it difficult for Agassi to find a winner. The American gets to 40-30 down, only to see an ace fly past him.

Federer 4-2 Agassi
Federer absolutely hammers a forehand winner down the line that draws a few gasps on the opening point and goes on to earn a break point from deuce. Agassi grits his teeth and saves it with a big forehand but Federer converts a second when the increasing pressure forces an Agassi error.

Federer 3-2 Agassi
From 15-15 Federer steps up a gear on serve with an ace and an unreturnable as he edges ahead again.

Federer 2-2 Agassi
Agassi is in a bit of trouble at 15-30 but throws in a kick serve that surprises the top seed. A sweeping Federer forehand takes the score to deuce but Agassi holds with an ace, to huge cheers from the crowd.

Federer 2-1 Agassi
Agassi gets the crowd going with a couple of fizzing winners but Federer remains unruffled and is serving really well, finishing with a winner down the middle.

Federer 1-1 Agassi
Agassi wins the first lengthy rally after Federer leaves a backhand too short, and the American wins the game with a backhand winner past the net-rushing Swiss.

Federer 1-0 Agassi
There is not much doubt which side the crowd is on - the match starts with "Let's go Andre!" ringing around the Arthur Ashe Stadium. The wind seems more of a problem for Federer who slips 15-30 down before finding his range to hold.
