US Open quotes
Roger Federer
"I'd rather win, and play all next year"
Andre Agassi is asked if a US Open victory would be the perfect way to end his career.

"I need to work, and this is my work. I'm a tennis player, and I'll do it as hard as I can as long as I can"
Andre explains yet again, as slowly and simply as possible, why he is not retiring.

"I've got an incredible record right now in the States. I've hardly lost a match in the last two years"
Roger Federer makes a simple case for his chances.

"No problem. I'm not afraid of that at all"
And playing an American hero in New York clearly does not trouble the Swiss.

"He's a hell of a shotmaker, the best I've ever seen. He can pull the trigger from anywhere on the court. He's lost three matches all year and on two of them he's had match point"
Lleyton Hewitt joins the Federer fan club.

"Can I hold the microphone or do you want to keep holding it?"
Kim Clijsters remains steadfastly polite to the on-court presenter even in her moment of triumph.
