Bryan twins seal doubles success
American twins Mike and Bob Bryan
American twins Bob and Mike Bryan beat top seeds Jonas Bjorkman and Max Mirnyi to take the men's doubles titles at the US Open on Friday.

The Bryans had lost in the finals of the Australian Open, the French Open and Wimbledon, but saved their season with a 6-1 6-4 victory.

"We played a perfect match today," said Mike Bryan.

"We have been on the losing end to them so many times that it's great to win the US Open title here in the US."

The Bryans only previous Grand Slam win came at the 2003 French Open, and they went down to Bjorkman and Mirnyi at Roland Garros this year.

"It's been a long two and a half years since our last Grand Slam title and these guys broke our hearts two and half months ago, so it's great to win this one," said Bob Bryan.
