Alex Bogdanovic says he is eager to prove his worth to the Great Britain Davis Cup team after Tim Henman ruled himself out of future selection.
Bogdanovic is keen to play in the Davis Cup again
The 20-year-old British number four is likely to be called up to replace Henman for the match Euro-African Zone away to Israel in March.
"The chance to play in the Davis Cup again definitely excites me," he said.
"It's a great chance for the young guys to work hard and fight for the place, which can only be good for Britain."
Bogdanovic made his Cup debut in Australia in 2003 and he said although Henman had made a huge contribution to the team, they would carry on without him.
"We're going to miss Tim a lot because his record in the Davis Cup is awesome, but we are determined to get things right.
"While Israel is a tough tie we also believe that it is definitely a winnable one."
