The veteran Italian is looking to maintain her steady form at Wimbledon.

Although the 33-year-old will always be happier on hard and clay courts, she reached the quarter-finals in 2003 and sandwiched that with a third-round run in 2003 and an appearance in the fourth round last year.

Farina Elia heads to Wimbledon after a typically solid start to the season, reaching the semi-finals on the Gold Coast before making the last 16 at the Australian Open.

The year's highlight so far, though, was her march to the final in Amelia Island where she lost a tight match against world number one Lindsay Davenport.

She was disappointed to lose in the third round at the French Open but she could be one to watch at Wimbledon - the only Grand Slam quarter-final she has has registered.
