Youzhny continues to be a consistent performer on the men's tour - although he is rarely a contender at the Grand Slams.
There seems little hope of that changing at SW19.
On his Wimbledon debut in 2001 he came up against eventual runner-up Patrick Rafter in the last 16 and fell at the same hurdle to 2002 champion Lleyton Hewitt a year later.
However, since then, he has won only one match, going down to Goran Ivanisevic in the first round last year.
The Russian is yet to get his season going, with only a quarter-final appearance on the hard courts in Dubai to show for his efforts.
He has also lost his Russian number two ranking to Nikolay Davydenko.
Youzhny's finest victory dates back to 2002 when he coaxed Russia to Davis Cup glory with a stunning singles performance.
He was two sets down to France's Paul-Henri Mathieu when he hit back to take an unlikely victory.
