Argentina's Paola Suarez has withdrawn from the singles and doubles at Wimbledon because of a hip injury.

Suarez and Virginia Ruano Pascual - who were runners-up at Wimbledon in 2002 and 2003 - were top seeds for the ladies' doubles.

Suarez's place in the draw goes to lucky loser Melinda Czink, who will face third seed Frenchwoman Amelie Mauresmo in the first round.

Holland's Michaela Krajicek also pulled out of the Wimbledon women's singles.

Krajicek has a knee injury and her place goes to French lucky loser Severine Beltrame, who will now face Luxembourg's Claudine Schaul.

Australia's Alicia Molik withdrew from Wimbledon with illness on Wednesday.

The world number nine is suffering from an inner ear infection, which affects her balance and causes dizziness.

The 24-year-old, a quarter-finalist at the Australian Open in January, had been suffering from the illness for more than two months.

She has been told it could be another six months before she recovers.

World number 14 Elena Bovina also pulled out of the women's event last week, because of a shoulder injury.
