Martina Navratilova's bid to retain her mixed doubles crown ended when she and partner Leander Paes were defeated by Zimbabwe pair Wayne and Cara Black.

The quartet's third-round match had been suspended late on Thursday with the final set tied at 10-10 because of fading light and damp conditions.

When the match resumed, number nine seeds the Blacks quickly wrapped up a 7-6(9-7) 6-7(5-7) 13-11 win.

Navratilova, chasing a record 21st SW19 title, is still in the women's doubles.
