Lopez wins epic final in Vienna
Feliciano Lopez
Spain's Feliciano Lopez won his maiden ATP Tour title with a five-set victory over Guillermo Canas in the final of the CA Trophy in Vienna.

Lopez, seeded eight, won 6-4 1-6 7-5 3-6 7-5 against the sixth-seeded Argentine, who went into the match with a record of 22 wins in 24 matches.

"It's unbelievable, I played really well all week and today was the climax," said Lopez.

"It was a tough match. It seemed I had to win every point two or three times."

The pair had met only once before, with Lopez coming through 10-8 in the fifth in the second round of Wimbledon 2002.

"I didn't have my best day. I was up and down in my level, but he was serving well and he played very well," said Canas.

Lopez now heads to the Madrid Masters and a clash with Croatian Ivo Karlovic.
