Klara Koukalova and Barbora Strycova gave the Czech Republic a good start to the Guangzhou International in China as both made the second round.
Koukalova recovered to beat China's Sun Tiantian 0-6 7-6 (7-5) 6-1, while Strycova thrashed compatriot Sandra Kleinova 6-2 6-1.
Li Ting gave the home fans something to cheer with a 6-1 6-1 victory over Aniko Kapros of Hungary.
