Andy Roddick hit a record 152mph serve on the final point to beat Jonas Bjorkman and clinch victory for the US over Sweden in the Davis Cup.
Roddick rallied in a gruelling first set before wearing down a weary Bjorkman to win 7-6 (3) 6-4 6-0.
Mardy Fish then wrapped up a 4-1 victory when he beat Thomas Johansson 3-6 6-1 6-4 in the meaningless final singles match.
The USA now meet Belarus in September's semi-final in Minsk.
Roddick broke his own serving record of 150mph on match point.
"I knew I had it in my arm," he said. "I thought I'd take a crack at it that last game."
Amazingly, Bjorkman managed to get his return in play but then hit a backhand into the net.

That last set was one of the best sets I've ever played

Roddick celebrated with one final forehand, throwing his racket to the crowd.
He climbed into the stands to trade high-fives with the US team before returning to the court to take an American flag on a victory lap with his team-mates.
"That last set was one of the best sets I've ever played, for sure," said Roddick.
"My instincts took over. It was amazing. It was like whatever shot I tried was working."
