Bob and Mike Bryan gave the United States a 2-1 lead over Sweden in their Davis Cup tie by beating Jonas Bjorkman and Thomas Johansson 6-3 6-4 6-4.
The Americans can now wrap up the best-of-five quarter-final by taking one of two singles matches on Sunday.
Andy Roddick plays first, with Bjorkman the probable opponent, while Mardy Fish follows against Thomas Enqvist.
The winner of the last-eight clash in New York will host first-time semi-finalists Belarus in September.
"This is the best atmosphere we've ever been a part of," said Mike Bryan. "We've never been so jacked."
"This match wasn't too long," Bjorkman said. "They returned well, but I wouldn't say they returned that great.
"We gave them a lot of second serves. It was just a bad day in the office."
