Jennifer Capriati has pulled out of
the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Japan due to injury.
The American withdrew from the Australian Open because of a back injury she sustained in November at the season-ending WTA Championship.
Venus Williams and Japan Open champion Maria Sharapova of Russia are scheduled to take part in the WTA Tour event.
It begins on Monday, 2 February, at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.
