The Spaniard will play Sjeng Schalken in the last four after the Dutch third seed survived lapses in concentration before defeating Felix Mantilla 6-2 5-7 7-6 (8/6).

Thailand's Paradorn Srichaphan, booked his place in the semi-finals with a two-set 6-3 7-6 (7/2) victory of Russia's Igor Andreev.
