Swisscom Challenge, Zurich
Top seeds Justine Henin-Hardenne and Kim Clijsters made light work of their quarter-finals at the Swisscom Challenge.
Henin-Hardenne was in dominant mood as she swept aside Vera Zvonareva 6-4 6-2 and will next face Russia's Nadia Petrova.
And Belgian compatriot Clijsters beat Slovenian qualifier Tina Pisnik 6-3 6-2 in their quarter-final.
"The beginning of the second set wasn't pretty," said Clijsters. "I had to refocus, work my way back into the match. She can be a tricky player."
She will next meet Jelena Dokic, who was thrilled with her form as she ousted defending champion Patty Schnyder 6-0 6-3.
"I don't think I played like that even when I was four in the world," said Dokic. "I think this is the best
tennis I've played for a long time."
Henin-Hardenne unleashed a flurry of forehands to see off Zvonareva.

She secured the break at her fourth attempt but was forced to save a break-point herself at 5-4 before wrapping up the opener.
The Belgian hit a string of winners to immediately break Zvonareva in the second, grabbing another to go 4-1 up.
Zvonareva came to life late one, putting up fierce resistance which forced Henin-Hardenne to scuff her first match-point.
But the world number two then advanced after a long rally.
"It is one of the best matches I have played since the US Open," said Henin-Hardenne, who beat Clijsters in the Flushing Meadow final in September.
"She (Zvonareva) always played really well, she is very solid and she is young so she has nothing to lose. I had to play a good match and I did."
Petrova, claimed her place in the semi-finals after seeing off her compatriot Elena Bovina in a comfortable 6-1 6-4 victory.
